I know you're thinking, "man, that John Lindaman has it made. He's probably kicking back with all that sweet Teen-Beat money, forgot all about the common man over on his bandcamp site." Well nothing could be further from the truth. While I *am* drying my tears on the pillow full of cash that comes from signing with Teen-Beat Records (and this time, as a solo artist, I get to keep the *whole* pillow), I haven't forgotten my roots, so there's a new mini album called Concatenator for you over on my bandcamp site (or, if you prefer, a Digi-Cassette Maxi-Single).
In other news, I'll be playing a show here in Brooklyn on November 8th at Black Gold, with my pals Eleonore Oppenheim and James Moore in their new ensemble The Hands Free. Attendance is strongly suggested. There's a few more in the works, too; I'll update you all as they come together brilliantly.
Also, I started this specific solo guitar project 4 years ago, in October 2010; 38 Bandcamp releases later, and two full-length albums on Teen-Beat, I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. Thanks for listening. (I mean, I guess I assume you have been listening if you are reading this far.)

Playing Friday June 13th at Cake Shop NYC for New York Tsurphu Goshir Dharma Center
When friends of yours are doing something real that is of actual value in the world, and they ask you to help them by just playing some music, which (let's face it) you would probably just be doing anyway, it's pretty much ideal. When the show also turns out to have an amazing, wide-ranging line-up full of your friends, a reunited legendary band you never got to see, and a musical hero of yours, then welcome to my world.
Come down, hear some great music, and support the work of the New York Tsurphu Goshir Dharma Center, which, in addition to offering regular meditation instruction and being one of the few (only?) centers for this lineage in the Western Hemisphere, also created the Samantabhadra Initiative, which brings opportunities for contemplative counseling and spiritual development to at-risk youth, incarcerated people, LGBTQ people and the ill or dying. Pretty heavy stuff. I'm just going to make bleeping and droning noises for like 20-25 minutes.
Make sure you get there right at 8, because you don't want to miss any of this.
The line-up is:
1st band: VOMIT FIST

2nd: TRUMMORS

3rd: JOHN LINDAMAN

Crowding the Octagon film series
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the awesome series of films made by the incomparable Millard Sumner of Social Distance for tunes on this album. Teenbeat has links to them here as they become available.
In other news, the first part of the tour was fantastic; the Boston, Hudson, Hadley and Charlottesville shows were top-notch, and the C'ville even wrote a very nice piece about me. (Even though it's mostly about True Love Always, it's one of the more thoughtful and concise summaries of that part of what I do.) Now I gotta book more shows for round 2--DC and Philadelphia, holler at me!

Happy new year/rest of previous year/more music
Welcome to 2014. While we're at it, how was the rest of your 2013? After the fantastic success of Black Death DNA (#4 top mailorder item for Teen-Beat in 2013, topping the tote bag), I spent most of the rest of the year recording, working on TLA stuff which I swear is gonna come out some day, resting on my laurels, accepting accolades, getting ultra-ripped abs, and being the most influential, yet still unknown, artist of my generation.
For 2014, the signs are auspicious for more activity, so to start things off here's a digital cassingle bootleg of my set from Zebulon from the end of 2012. This was the record release party for Heather McIntosh's award-winning soundtrack to Compliance; it was me, the amazing Jeremiah Cymerman, and of course The Instruments. For me, the most gratifying thing about this recording is that you can hear the audience talking when I start, but at the end of the set you can hear that nobody is talking. Success! Coming soon: more avant-garde guitar jams, a new record on Teen-Beat, some actual shows, all to be announced here soon.

Black Death DNA out now on Teen-Beat
I'm excited to tell you that my new album Black Death DNA is out now on Teen-Beat Records . As you know, I've been associated with Teen-Beat since like 1985, but never released a solo album on Teen-Beat...UNTIL NOW. You can get it as a download for $7.92, but why not treat yourself right and get a CD-R with a beautiful poster designed by Mark Robinson for $9.99 instead? There's also a great video Mark made for the song "Love Theme from New Zero Seasons" here. I'm always extremely honored to continue to work with Teen-Beat, so I highly recommend you make all my dreams come true and get on this right away.
In other news, I'm hard at work on the follow up, so there'll be more prepared guitar summer jams for you soon.

True Love Always live at the Bell House for Chickfactor 21
So, in the pop music world, there is really no force more powerful than the shadowy cabal of Chickfactor. A nod from "them" and it's straight to the top, and you don't have to be nice to the people you see on the way up, cause you ain't coming back down. That is why we in True Love Always (which would be, as it has been for over a decade, me, Matt Datesman and Tony Zanella) are stoked to play on June 12th at the Bell House in Brooklyn NY for night two of Chickfactor 21.
All three nights are stellar, but if you have to pick one, make it June 12th, and be sure to get there at 8pm sharp; this isn't one of those "doors at 8, first band goes on around 10:30 when they have given up on any more of their friends showing up" deals. We're on at 8, and have the entirely enviable task of clearing the stage for the Aluminum Group right after us! Such an amazing line-up, and it is truly an honor to be a part of it.
